Snowy Owls Y3
Welcome to Snowy Owls!
'In a world where you can be anything, be kind'
Below is the main information you need to know for Term five.
I hope you have all had a great Easter Holiday. I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 13th April.
This term, we are travelling to Thame Swimming Pool every Tuesday morning for swimming lessons. We will be back for lunch. Our first lesson is on the 14 April (second day back).
We will also be having Forest School every Wednesday afternoon.
Any questions, just catch me at the end of the day as always.
Topic:
For the last two terms we will be learning about Rivers and our Local area.
Homework:
Homework will be given out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.
On top of the homework given out on a Friday, it would be great if you could read with your child at least three times per week and sign their reading diaries (they will earn 1 dojo point for every three times they read and have their diaries signed at home.)

Some weeks I will set Times Table Rock Stars as homework. Please let me know if you need your child’s login.
Additional homework will be available on the homework grid. We will display any homework from the homework grid in the classroom.
Spellings:
Spelling tests will be on a Wednesday morning.
PE:
PE this term will be on a Tuesday (swimming) and on a Friday (dance with Mrs Dickson).
Please send your child to school dressed in their PE kit. PE Kit should consist of the following: navy, black or grey bottoms (shorts/ joggers/ PE skirt), white T-Shirt and navy, black or grey warm hoodie/ top if required. They need to come to school in their school shoes and have their trainers to change into for PE. This is so that they have clean shoes in the classroom.
Swimming: Please come to school with your swimming costume/trunks on under your school uniform and bring a pair of pants/knickers in your swimming bag. You also need to bring a towel, a swimming hat and googles (if you want to wear them).
Forest School: Please can you make sure that the children come to school wearing school uniform and bring a Forest School kit to change into. The children will go outside in all weathers, so please make sure their kit includes lots of layers (hat and gloves if needed) and it's essential to have a waterproof coat, shoes and a pair of waterproof trousers for all sessions. As it gets warmer this term, make sure the children wear long-sleeved tops and leggings/tracksuit bottoms to avoid stings, ticks and scratches.
Whole Class Reading:
For the next two terms we will be reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. It would be great if every child could have their own copy of this book.
Please can you make sure your child has outdoor shoes or wellies to change into for break and lunch, as well as a waterproof coat every day (a spare pair of socks in your bag can also be very handy).
Our cloakroom is very small in Snowy Owls, so please can I ask that the children only bring the essentials into school. A book bag, water bottle (water only please, and please use a small water bottle, not the very large bottles that have become popular as we don't have the space for them) and packed lunch. No big backpacks please.
As the children are now in KS2 they no longer receive a snack at school, so please send them with a healthy snack (fruit, vegetables, plain breadsticks or rice cakes) for break time.
Please catch me at the end of the day or contact me via the office (office@greatmiltonschool.co.uk) if you have any questions or there is anything that you need me to know.
