...................

We are thrilled to have you back in school as our brand-new Hawk Owls! We hope you are well rested and returning READY for a fun year of great learning.

PE

  • For this term, our PE days will be on Mondays (Tag Rugby) and Thursdays (football) – please come to school dressed in your PE kit on both days.
  • Remember to bring a change of shoes if the weather is wet so that you are not coming back inside with muddy trainers from PE.
  • You could also bring your uniform to change into after PE if you prefer not to sit in your PE kit after the lesson. This is also a good idea on wet days! See PE Kit Information.

HOMEWORK

  • Homework will be set for Friday and is due to be handed in the following Friday.
  • As some of these tasks will be marked in class, it is important you bring your completed work/ workbooks into school every week.
  • If you need any help, please let me or Miss Martin Bennett know BEFORE your homework is due!
  • The weekly homework instruction sheets will be uploaded onto the website under the 'homework' section – hopefully I've done the first one - please let me know if there are any issues accessing it!
  • There will be additional tasks on your Homework Grid that you may also like to complete, once this is finalised.

READING

  • Our book this term is 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio. There is a copy of this in class for everyone, but feel free to bring in your own (named) copy if you have one.
  • Please also remember that our school expectation that you read every day outside of school and record this in your this in your diary.

SPaG

  • As we are in Year 6, we will be mainly consolidating our learning from Key Stage Two – below there are some learning resources that may help you at home, including the terminology and methods that we use in school.

MATHS

  • Continue to practise your times tables (TTRS) and number bonds at home. Quick recall of these is essential to access other areas of the maths curriculum successfully.

....................

If parents or carers have any questions or need to speak about anything at all, then please catch one of us at the end of the day or, alternatively, email the office, and they will pass any communication on.

REMEMBER – We're here to help and are excited to be working with you in your final year at Primary School!
